A new weekly motor racing program is being created on TV specifically to flight the great motor racing from the nineties through to the mid 2000’s. Those were the days when all National Motorsport events were all covered live on TV. The racing then is remembered as some of the best racing in the history of the sport in South Africaretro racing

“There has been a many requests from motorsport fans, drivers, teams and companies to re run this old footage, the days when the grids were full, huge entries on race days, when motorsport was well supported by all the manufacturers, sponsors, teams, drivers and riders, many of who are now legends in the sport today,” said Digby Wesson.

“This great footage exists thanks to Rob Weightman who filmed and produced it all live in those days a man that is said to be one of the best TV motor racing producers in SA, he has all the original tapes of the racing in the 90’s going forward to 2006.” As most petrol heads will know the racing then was outstanding and is now being referred to as the Golden Era of SA Racing.”retro racing 02

The plan is to have our very own 30 minute motor racing program, a complete show with 5 repeats running every week 24/7. This will be a total of 52 x 30 min programs a year, one per week and then the repeats that same week, a total of 6 flightings in the week, 180 minutes a week, 312 flightings a year. Smaller month packages can be arranged to suit a budget

“The categories we have are the Wesbank V8’s, Production cars, Superbikes plus the smaller class’s along with all the SA Rally footage, we will also look at sourcing other footage such as Motocross, Supercross, indoor Supercross and Trials, plus the early Paris/Dakar’s and Camel Trophy, if the interest is there and we get the support all this will all happen.”

Each complete program category will be rebranded for the new partners/sponsors, along with a great added value package.

One can own the complete program and category outright for a year, or one can take the option of 26 programs over the year.

“We will only run one category per each 30 min program per week plus the 5 re runs, the package will include the following; Onscreen logos, opening and closing bill boards, Stings, voice overs, as a sponsor the TV Commercials will be at a really special reduced rate if required, there will also be trade exchange deals, competitions and promotions, PR support, a full branded calendar program of the racing that will be running, along with other attractive benefits,” said Wesson.

The return on the sponsorship is well over 20 to 1 and the packages are very affordable with a number of options in place.

The channel will be announced at a later date once we have all our partners in place.

The Beta RR Enduro project continues to grow and improve boosted by successes on the racetracks and by the great commitment of the technical and R&D departments in Rignano.

The RR Enduro 2015 models are lighter and more agile, and their great power and torque are more easily controlled. They are the ideal motorcycles for enthusiasts and the winning solution for victory-hungry off-road riders

The RR Enduro 2T 2015 range has also evolved, the 250 version featuring certain technical innovations and the 300 version featuring special parts from the Racing model. The objective here is to increase the smoothness and regularity of power delivery, seeking and obtaining an even more direct and progressive response of the engine to the throttle, making engine power fully available.beta 250 300

Engines

The RR 2T MY 2015 engines have undergone some changes aimed at ever-better control of engine management, without reducing performance in terms of lightness and power typical of 2T engines with high specific power.

RR 250 2T:

The engine's exhaust-flap-adjustment system has been modified, increasing the number of adjustment springs from 1 (RR 2T 2014 version) to 2 in parallel, as in the 300cc engine. This change significantly improves engine output, optimising the opening of the exhaust flap at every stage of operation.

Exhaust

A new silencer, for this version with an internal pipe of a smaller diameter compared with the 300 version, improves the precision of response to the throttle and increases peak revs.

RR 300 2T:

The engine takes over the complete package comprising the cylinder, combustion chamber and CDI coming from the 300 2T 2014 Racing version. In particular, the reduced width of the exhaust outlet and better exhaust outlet-flap coupling enable this engine to guarantee an increasingly immediate and precise response to the throttle, and an excellent linearity of power delivery without interfering in any way with the maximum power and torque figures. The combustion-chamber profile, together with the digital electronic control unit, make it possible to optimise engine output in every stage of operation seeking as the primary objective to make the increase in performance, due to opening of the exhaust flap, as gentle and progressive as possible.

Exhaust

A new silencer, for the 250 version with an internal pipe of a smaller diameter compared with the 300 version, improves the precision of response to the throttle and increases peak revs.

Fork

The Sachs USD 48 fork developed in close collaboration between Beta and Sachs features numerous important innovations: a new design of the extension piston with “three slot” geometry in order to improve the oil flow and make it more direct so as to absorb violent shocks more progressively. To improve the general smoothness of the fork, particularly on the initial breakaway friction, a spring-support release system has been included to eliminate rotational friction, the design of the sleeves and sheaths has been modified increasing the distance between the slider DUs, also reducing their height. Finally, the spring profile has been redesigned to guarantee better insertion inside the sleeve. All the connections have also been adjusted, increasing precision.

Shock absorber

The rear shock has a new internal piston with oil passages that have been redesigned to improve oil flow and reduce overheating during operation. This means that the shock absorber offers more stable performance, precise and reliable even under very intense use.

Handlebar pads

Ideal for the most extreme off-road riding and compliant with the standards required by FIM regulations.

Saddle

The padding has been redesigned with softer foam.

The renewed look streamlines and adds character, maintaining the classical Beta colours.end bike test
