Cayenne have produced 20 Limited Edition Marc Marquez Repsol replica CBR 1000 RR units which are available at the same price as the stock 2014 Honda CBR 1000
“ Due to demand and to celebrate the success of the Repsol team and the Marc Marquez Moto GP overall win in 2013 we have produced 20 units which will be available on a first come first served basis”, said Craig Langton dealer principle of the Cayenne Group. “All paintwork, decaling, graphics etc. have been absorbed by Cayenne so new owners score on all the extras, we have fixed the cost at R 154 900 in a once off special offer.”
Known for being the best overall 1 litre motorcycle package, the CBR1000RR cements its stellar reputation with several improvements for 2014.
The new, bubble-shaped windscreen works in concert with the new rider position to reduce wind resistance, the foot pegs have been moved further back 10 mm and the handlebar angles have been revised inward and downward to move the rider triangle slightly downward and forward, making it the perfect machine for a track day motorcycle.
It also features new suspension on both the front and rear, up front, Big Piston Fork (BPF), the 43 mm Showa fork is smoother, more responsive and gives one excellent front-end feedback. On the rear the Unit Pro-Link design uses a new balance-free rear shock with a double-tube design for a smoother and more accurate response and better road-holding.
The braced aluminium “gull-wing” swingarm is deliberately long and helps deliver improved traction and gives the rider excellent chassis feedback. The race-proven Brembo monobloc callipers are light, they provide exceptional stiffness and excellent braking performance
Revolutionary does not begin to describe the brakes. The combined Anti-Lock Braking System (C-ABS) is the first of its kind on a Superbike. Even the most critical motorcycle testers rave about how well they work.
The fuel tank is positioned in the centre of the chassis and low in the frame. This allows for a more compact design, but more importantly it helps centralize the bike’s mass. Increased mass centralization means the CBR is more responsive to rider input, especially when leaning the bike into a turn or standing it up at the exit.
A four-piece aluminium frame design balances strength, rigidity and lightness. Wrapped tightly around the engine, the structure helps centralize the CBR 1000 RR’s mass for more responsive handling.
The CBR1000RR features two sets of injectors per cylinder for low and high-rpm performance, instantaneous high-rpm response and great low-rpm metering and clean running. Refined EFI settings make the engine even more manageable, with smoother throttle response specifically at smaller throttle openings.
Features changes to the cylinder head, including revised valve seats, machining and intake exhaust port shape. Along with modifications to the intake and exhaust systems, this creates more horsepower and torque.
Superbikes can deliver a great deal of back-torque through the driveline, upsetting handling, not so on the new CBR, its Honda-designed assisted slipper clutch is the same type used on their MotoGP bikes. The design does away with the need for heavy clutch springs, ensuring full power transmission with smooth shifting and a light clutch pull at the lever.
The full-screen LCD instrumentation includes a lap timer, trip and fuel-consumption computer, five-level customizable shift indicator, gear-position indicator and peak-rpm memory function.
There’s no mistaking the new 2014 CBR1000RR, thanks to its layered fairing bodywork its lean, mean, more aggressive styling and in its Repsol livery it’s a real head turner.
