We’ve covered the sturdy DL1050 XT on many occasions, but this feature is a little different. We’re a bit tired of motorcyclists ‘avoiding’ the big Suzuki as a bike that’s only really suited for road touring duties, and not so much towards off-road adventures, so they say. Well they’re all wrong and to prove it we decided to take one to the ADA training facility just outside of Johannesburg.

I’ve always been a huge fan of Honda’s NC range. On the other hand, some riders have no interest. ‘They’ just see them as some sort of ‘soft’ commuter with mild performance manners. Fair enough I suppose, but they’re missing the point, I believe.

2017 was the year when Honda spat out their latest CRF250L to eager riders. The promise of a ‘pure’ enduro with less intimidating dimensions attracted many off-road fanatics. Just ride to your desired off-road escape zone and enjoy mud and dirt baths until your heart was content, then ride back to your personal fortress.
